David McClelland Remembrances

From the family of the late David McClelland '69:

David was well known during his years at Harvard for his work on the Harvard Lampoon and other artistic activities like a remarkable exhibit at Adams House and for decorating the famous pillar at Tommy's Lunch. Several years ago we discovered a large number of his beautiful calligraphic manuscripts which are now in the Houghton Library. We are collecting these manuscripts along with David's other work in a book which will be published and on display at the 50th Reunion in May 2019. We have already been in touch with some of his classmates, but we are posting this message to let as many know about the project as possible.

We would love to hear from you if you knew David or are interested in the project. We are also collecting memories from his friends and colleagues which may be printed in the book or on the website we are planning about the project. We currently have a site with many reproductions of his work: http://muzen.com/davidckmcclelland.html We would also appreciate your letting others who might be interested know about the project. Many thanks!

'69 Turns 69!

We celebrated the 69th birthday of the Class of 1969 at Harvard’s Museum of Natural History with a visit to the extensively renovated exhibit of glass flowers. And then we continued the celebration with delicious food and friendly conversation at Nubar Restaurant in the Sheraton Commander Hotel, a short walk from the museum.
